NSF Workshop on Molecular Communication/ Biological Communications Technology

چکیده

The workshop on Molecular Communication/Biological Communications Technology (February 20-21, 2008) has provided a forum to discuss the emerging interdisciplinary field of Biological Communications Technology. The workshop has focused on various key themes at the intersection of biology and computing/communications technology. The workshop has in particular focused on the following five topics; (1) component technology, (2) system design methodology, (3) coding theory, (4) novel computing, and (5) applications, and identified grand research challenges for further advancement of this filed. This report describes in detail grand research challenges identified during the two day workshop. This report also provides a summary of suggested actions for NSF in order to promote and support interdisciplinary education and research.
